Well, as in the United States, Brazil has a lot of travelers and with them they bring many languages. There are several languages in Brazil but the main language is Portuguese.

Portuguese is the official language of Brazil. Many people (due to immigration) are also fluent in Italian, Japanese and German. English is possibly the most widely taught foreign language in schools.

Don't talk rubbish, people! LORD God! We speak only one language in Brazil, and it is Portuguese. As a wisdom Guest said, some people speak other languages, but it's something isolated - they learn at home, with their relatives,  just like many people in the US speak Chinese. Nobody can prevent you from speaking the language you want to at home, can they? Again, I reiterate: We speak ONLY Portuguese. Actually, English is the most taught language, but we're far from being bilingual.

        Reliable post, I'm Brazilian =)
