How Would You Describe Our Location In The Universe?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

This is a pretty tricky question. We have no idea just how big the universe really is, so trying to gauge our position in an infinitely expanding area with X, Y, and Z coordinates would be impossible. Also, any of the information we gather from far-probing satellites wouldn't be too much help for this question, because their flaw is that they are all taken from one vantage point- ours. Here's a neat website to check out with some more information and maps though.

As far as our position in this, the Milky Way, galaxy is concerned; we are on the outer edge of the Orion Arm.
