Menstruation is term used for menstrual bleeding or periods. Normal periods can last for 2-7 days. Periods less than 2 days are not normal and condition is called scanty periods while periods more than 7 days are prolong periods. Both conditions have different causes and require treatment after diagnosis. A normal menstrual cycle can be of 26-32 days with an average of 28 days.
