Did Aboriginals Find Australia?

I want to find out who discovered Australia? I know there are lots of answers, but I need a bit more information.

    Yes, the aboriginals as we know them were probably the first people to set foot on Australia, they most likely came from Africa, and probably from Madagascar (which is an African island just off the east coast of main land Africa). Although as the other person said, the first of the civilised world to discover Australia was either a Dutch or Portuguese sailor (I forget which), although the British were the first to map it properly, extensively explore it and colonise Australia, claiming it for the British Empire.

      The first people of Australia were known as the Aboriginal people. It is said that Dutch sailor discovered Australia in the year 1616 and after that Royal Navy Lt. (later Captain) James Cook explored it and presented it as his discovery in the year 1770.
