Shaftesbury is a small town located in the Blackmore vale region of North Dorset, an area considered to be of particular natural beauty.

The town of Shaftesbury is located at the top of a hill that overlooks the town of Gillingham and the villages of East Stour, Duncliffe and Motconbe amonsgt others.

The town itself is famous for Gold Hill, a cobbled street most famous for its appearance in the Hovis bread adverts. The hill is also home to the local museum and the town hall, which often plays host to a variety of country fairs is also close by.

The town although relatively small, is well stocked for shops and amongst the local retailers, some of the more major high street brands are also located.

For those wishing to enjoy a good meal and some of the local ale, Shaftesbury is also well equipped for pubs in the more traditional country nature.
