EU stands for European Union. It is basically an economic and political organization that has 27 member countries, which are located in Europe. This union was established in the year 1993 after the Treaty of Maastricht.

There are many benefits of being in the EU. First of all the EU has 500 million people, and has 30 percent of the world's nominal gross world product. Now the EU laws have enabled this region to work as a single market with uniform laws and unrestricted flow of people, goods, services and capital. There is a common trade policy, agricultural and fisheries policy and a regional development policy for all the countries. So if a country is in the European Union, it can recruit the best people in Europe and it can sell to the best buyers around the world. Infact for some products the whole EU members states act as customers.

Also, if you are a member states, no other country can be unfair to you as the rest of the members will make an alliance to help you out.
