Siebel is one of the brand names of the Oracle Corporation. Siebel Systems Inc. was established by Thomas Seibel in the year 1993. It was mainly involved in the designing, developing, marketing and supporting CRM applications. On the 12th of September in the year 2005, it was declared that Siebel Systems was bought over by Oracle Corporation for an amount of 5.8 billion U.S dollars.
Towards the end of the 1990s, Siebel systems has emerged as the leading vendor in Customer Relationship Management, acquiring a maximum of a forty five percent share in the CRM market in the year 2002. It was regarded as possessing an outstanding software structure and CRM feature set, but after the year 2002 it came to be viewed as having a very high total cost of ownership.
