How Can A Person Be Added To The Deeds Of A House?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

This procedure has been made easy as it occurs frequently in case of marriage, adoption and divorce. The documentation includes a current home owner draft. You need to implement a new deed in which you are supposed to transfer  half of the title of the home to yourself and the other to the new person that you want to put on the house deeds. In most parts of the country, this procedure costs about $100; however, the fee may differ from place to place.

You can take the help of an attorney to make the draft for you. An agreement will also be made to ascertain the situation in case of death, divorce or dispute. There are different types of laws related to this which an attorney would be able to explain to you like the law of survivorship, it is optional, under this, the ownership of the house will be transferred to the other member on the deed automatically in case of death.
