    The English Reformation basically refers to the events that led to the breaking up of the church of England from the authority of pope and Roman Catholic church during the 16th century. Sir Thomas More also known as Saint Thomas More was an English lawyer and a leading humanist scholar. He is known for refusing to accept King Henry's claim to be supreme head of Church of England.
