What Is The Current State Of Affairs For The West Indian Cricket Team?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

According to the West Indian coach David Moore, West Indies should strive for a win in the second test match against England in Headingley, Leeds to enhance their impact and utilize the draw that they had managed to pull in the first test match after the dominant position of England in the first test match.  West Indies, who were once the most formidable power in cricket, are now facing crisis in the cricket world, their world ranking of a lowly number eight, illustrating the gist of the ongoing crisis.

The crisis had worsened specially after the departure of their star player and former captain Brian Charles Lara, who was the field marshal for his team and had been solely carrying the team for an entire decade.  The four-match test series against England would prove to be a litmus test for the West Indian cricket team specifically because the team has been unsuccessful in scoring a win in an overseas cricket series since a long period of seven years.
