Is the sky beyond the moon? And what's the distance?

Sky is simply the atmosphere. And moon is far more away from sky(atmosphere). The sky looks blue as when sunlight enters the atmosphere the sunlight breaks into seven colours. As blue colour has high frequency it gets trapped in the atmosphere for a period of time and sky looks blue. Therefore sky is not an object it is simply air or atmosphere and moon is another celestial object like earth that orbits around earth several kilometers away.

Yes, the sky IS beyond the moon. The sky consists of everything we see when we look up. When we look up in the night sky, we see the Aurora Borealis (or if we are "way down under", the Aurora Australius), our moon, some of the planets in our solar system, the occasional asteroid, other stars, and of coarse whatever we threw up in the sky previously (like airplanes, space shuttles, satellites, and the assorted space junk). We also see clouds, rain, snow, hail, tornadoes, airplanes, helicopters, and the loose balloon that blew out of your daughters hand an hour ago. Anything we see when we look up, including skyscrapers, is part of the sky. The atmosphere is not a limiting factor, we just look through it.

Above the earth, there is the sky then space. The sky is the air around the earth, which is called the earths atmosphere. This atmosphere eventually gets thinner and thinner until there's no more which is where the sky ends and space begins. The moon and other planets are separate from the earth and stay in space. The moon circles around the earth in space, but is separate from earth and beyond the sky.
