Where Is Knockin?

Knockin is a village and civil parish in the county of Shropshire in England. It is located in the borough of Oswestry. Knockin has a rural setting, where most of the buildings are historic and independent units. The Earl of Bradford was the previous owner of the village, before it was sold off in lots to meet the other financial demands which had arisen. Knockin is located on the B4396.
The Earl of Bradford is still the owner of the cricket pitch and some other plots of land in the village. The Bradford Arms is the local pub in the village and its displays the coat of arms of the Bradford family. The parish church, Church of Saint Mary, was founded by Ralph Le Strange during the period of thirteen years between 1182 and 1195. Knockin is one of the villages where one of the radio telescopes which make up the multi-element radio linked interferometer network (known by its acronym MERLIN) belonging to the Jodrell Bank Observatory is located.
