When Do I Start Feeding My Expecting Dog Puppy Chow?

If the puppy chow is taking away from the mother at birth, the puppy chow must start feeding rite away. You must only feed it milk from a nearby pet store or from the vet office. Uni Milk is one of the best options, it is a powdered milk made especially for puppies,calves, kids, etc.  Because the puppy cannot see, it is best to have it get used to your body order and the bottle you will be using. You must also get a 4 ml bottle from the pet store (small nippled). The milk you have chosen will tell you how much to feed your puppy. At 2 wks +, you must feed your chow puppy only to about 2 ml every 4 -6 hrs. Puppy chows tend to sleep alot and get lazy, so if your chow does not wake up within that period, it is OK once it is breathing. At 4 - 6 wks the chow should start on moistened dog food. Make sure you check for teeth. Also make sure that your puppy chow eye lids are completely opened. When the eyelids are opened (2 wks) the pup should see a vet for its shots and wormer. Chows may carry harmful diseases that may be harmful to itself. Also when you take the pup away from its mother, do NOT return the chow back to its mother. The mother will tend to kill the chow because it doesn't have its original mother's sent anymore. The mother will not recognize its baby and kill it. Puppy chows also like to be cuddled and indoors. Once a chow gets used to your smell it will automatically think your its mother/father/owner, and cuddle under you for warmth. I hope that answers your question and more.
