Yes, but $1200, it was a stimulus check, it was an advance on your income tax return, bunch of bs.

Have heard that online Turbo Tax does not deduct your stimulus check from 2008. However, i bought the box version of turbo tax and that does deduct your stimulus from your refund.

IRS knows what SSN and bank account the stimulus was deposited into in 2008.  So saying you didn't get one when you did (or filing as such) would seem to me to throw a big red audit flag.  Then again, YMMV (your mileage may vary)

I filed on-line with turbotax.com.  I put in  the wrong amount of the refund check...I knew it might have been wrong...BUT in large bold letters, it indicated the amount would NOT affect my refund.  Well - I received $1,000 LESS than I should have.  I looked online at irs.gov and rec'd a message that i had the wrong amount in and they adjusted it as necessary and will receive a written explanation on 2/23.  I'm waiting for that exlanation...then I'll be on the phone with the IRS!!!!  I want my $1,000 they stole from me!

According to Turbo-Tax putting in the $600 stimulus payment my husband and I were getting a $146 refund.  Well we sent off our paperwork and 6 weeks later we received a letter from the IRS stating the stimulus was disallowed and we now owe $455?  How did we go from a refund to owing?
