Splenectomy is basically the removal of spleen through surgery. After the surgery care should be taken that you take all the prescribed medicines in order to prevent infection. The most important thing after the surgery is the prevention of infection and all of the physician’s directions must be followed in order to do so. After the surgery you should not travel to areas where you might be exposed to any kind of infection or disease.
