Why Is AC Unit Not Cooling Enough?

I just bought a new Ac unit for my room. It's 6500 BTUs. My room is pretty small. Sometimes it gets really cold, Just like I like it. But when it's above 90 degrees outside the AC does not cool like it should. Does the outside Temp affect how my AC will work?

The problem with your AC is that external unit of your AC has been placed under intense heat and under direct sun light so when the heat intensify that effects your internal AC unit performance. Please try to place you external unit where there is no direct sun light but it should have proper air ventilation area as well.

Yep, I'm in Florida, I know your plight. If you make an awning over it to shade it, well- you'll see improvement right away, plus it keeps the rain from leaking in. Also, clean out the filter, if that's maybe time.
