The capital of Austria is Vienna it is the largest city in Austria. Austria is a landlocked country; it shares its borders with Germany and Czech Republic towards the north, Slovakia and Hungary to the east, Slovenia and Italy to the south and Switzerland and Liechtenstein towards the west. It id situated in central Europe.
Austria is a parliamentary representative social equality and comprises of nine federal states, it is also one of the six European countries which have acknowledged permanent neutrality. Australia is also a member of the United Nation and has been part of the European Union since the year 1995. The country of Austria was initially known as the Celtic kingdom of Noricum, it was a long standing supporter of Rome. It is said that the Romans occupied Austria rather that conquering it, during the control of Augustus and transformed the territory of Noricum in 16 BC.
