It id situated in central Europe.

The country of Austria was initially known as the Celtic kingdom of Noricum, it was a long standing supporter of Rome. It is said that the Romans occupied Austria rather that conquering it, during the control of Augustus and transformed the territory of Noricum in 16 BC.
