I bought a condo last summer that has a heat pump. How will a programable thermostat impact the efficiency of the furnace/ac?

If you purchase a programmable thermostat make sure you buy a heat pump programmable start. There are two types one for straight cooling and heating be it gas or electric heat and the other for heat pump. Make sure you read the installation directions before installing the thermostat. You will save money in the long run if you have a schedule that you may follow. Meaning wakeup mode, leave mode, return mode, and sleep mode. Think about what you would like to do. Remember to set back the thermostat meaning lowering or raising the temperature more them 6 degrees the home will not recover in time for your return comfort
