What Does Detoxing Involve?

    Detoxing is used to give your body a bit of a spring clean. Its aim is to neutralise the toxins within the body and it also helps to keep the bladder, liver and kidneys to run properly. Generally, detoxing helps to make you feel more energised and your skin will feel clearer.

    Detoxing usually takes place over a few days and each detox plan will vary. You can buy some detox plans that provide you with seven days worth of tubes of liquid, which you then drink each day. This seven day detox is simple to follow though they can be expensive. Other detox programs take place over a couple of days and certain foods are cut out of the diet and replaced by healthier versions.  Good foods to have whilst on a detox plan include watercress, red peppers, cabbage, melons and kiwi fruits. Porridge is also really good in a morning, especially with berries. All chocolate, cake and biscuits are avoided as are all processed foods.

    As mentioned earlier, all detox plans are different so you should always find one that is better for you. Also detox plans are only meant to last a few days, you should never detox for too long as you will be denying your body some essential fats and vitamins that it may need.
