What Are The Main Features Of The Death And Resurrection Of Jesus Christ?

Before ascending into heaven, Jesus Christ walked the earth for a few days appearing to His disciples. Also, before ascending, Christ gave his disciples the Great Commision. "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: And, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

I believe Christ was condemned to death by Pontius Pilate.  He had to carry the cross to Mt.  Calvary where he was hung on the cross next to two thieves.  One of them was to be in Paradise with him.  He was prodded and jeered until he died. As the story goes, he was buried and on the third day he rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven.  At his death Mary wiped his face and his image remained on the cloth; which was called the Shroud of Turin.

Jesus Christ, God's only son was the only perfect sacrifice for humanity. When he died on the cross He took every sin that ever had been committed and every sin that would ever be committed in the future and endured that on the cross. Then he was buried in the tomb. Before He arose from the dead on the third day, he conquered satan. That is why Christians rejoice on Easter.
