What Did We Have Before Inheritance Tax?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

In the year 1975, capital transfer tax replaced estate duty, which was later replaced by inheritance tax (IHT) in 1986. This was particularly done to curb the simple methods followed in order to avoid paying the IHT. These methods were being followed on a regular basis. Though inheritance tax is small, it is by no means avoidable and cannot be considered insignificant. In 2001, alone it generated revenue worth £2,000,000,000. As per the period between April 6, 2006 and April 5, 2007, the IHT rate is 40 per cent on the value at death of an individual's tax estate over £285,000. This amount is known as nil rate band and changes annually. The tax covers all of the deceased person's assets whether it is real estate or personal estate.

We had Rights to Property, OUR FREEDOM, and our true status as SOVEREIGNS whose estates cannot be taxed by our mere representatives (the federal government).   Where is the Constitutional authority for a federal inheritance tax that is applied in the States to the State citizens ?  It doesn't exist.  Inheritance taxes are COMMUNISM - check the 3rd plank of the Communist Manifesto
