What Is The Purpose Of Leap Year In February Every Four Years?

Every four years we add a leap year because each year you really have a quater of a day more than the 365 days so a leap year is 366 days. Each day is a little longer than the 24 hours. This is because it takes longer to circle the sun than 24 hours. The tilt of the earth changes so days seam longer day light. The best we can do is this extra day every four years. The maya had a better calander, but this used solar time, luna time and was very complicated. So february being only 28 days it is given 29 days. The calander was change after the it was not correct in 1545.we were days off. So the Pope had someone work on it. This is very interesting. But it is simplely that we do not circle the sun as we think 24 hours.
