Does Tin Rust?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Yes, tin does rust. It is obvious because cans are made out of tin and they rust all of the time! Also, in the wizard of oz the tin woodman rusts. To make it move again you just proceed with splashing oil all over the rust to make the can or tin whatever move again.

No tin does not rust, rust is iron oxide. Tin oxide is something totally different.
Cans made of steel that are tin coated will rust as the tin wears.

If tin is not non-corrosive, it rusts yes.
