Where Was The Battle Of Britain Fought?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Battle of Britain was fought in the United Kingdom airspace, mostly all over southern England. The battle took place between July 1940 and May 1941. It was the first big battle that was recorded in history, which was fought completely in the air. It was the biggest and most nonstop bombing crusade yet attempted and also the first real test of the tactical bombing theories that had started since the previous world war.

This battle was fought in an attempt by the German Luftwaffe to get a hold on air superiority over the Royal Air Force (RAF). The second reason was to wipe out the aircraft construction and ground infrastructures, as well as petrifying the British people with the intention of threatening them into seeking a peace agreement or admit defeat and also attacking areas of political interest.
