    Bridgeport is the name of a city situated in the south eastern portion of Fairfield County, in the state of Connecticut in the United States of America. It is also colloquially known as The Park City, owing to the numerous parks in the region. As per the population census conducted in the year 2005, it houses a total of 139, 008 inhabitants, thus making it the most populated city in Connecticut.

    The prominent towns in the city include Derby, Fairfield, Monroe, Seymour and Stratford.

    The city covers a total area of 19.4 square miles, out of which 16 square miles is composed of land and 3.4 square miles is composed of water.

    Bridgeport is famously known for its close association with renowned inhabitant, circus promoter and former mayor P.T Barnum. The city is also famously the home of the Frisbie Pie Company.
