How Is Arthroscopy Performed?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Arthroscopy is a surgical process that is much better in recovery than the open surgery. Arthroscopic requires the use of anesthetic agents plus some special equipment in an operating room of hospital. Anesthetic agents are given to the patient according to the type of joint and problem. After that, round about the size of a button hole an incision is made in an effected area. Then in that incision or cut an arthroscope is inserted to view and diagnose an accurate problem. After getting the indication of a problem or disorder, a remedial surgery is performed with specially and particularly designed instruments which are inserted into the joint all the way through incisions.

In start, an arthroscopy was just used as a tool to diagnose a problem. That diagnosing was further used efficiently to make a suitable and result oriented plan for an open surgery. But nowadays with the advancement in tools and surgical techniques, so many problems are treated arthroscopically. A number of harms and problems are associated with the arthritis (Inflammation of a joint or joints) can very successfully be treated with arthroscopy. Many disorders can be treated with a combination and blend of an arthroscopic procedure and the standard surgery.
