There are a number of factors that determine the ideal weight of a person. These factors are sometimes determined by a person's genetic make up as well. For instance, in the same height range the ideal weight for a big boned person won't be the same as a small framed individual. The ideal weight for males and females is also very different. Then there are climatic and environmental factors as well and finally it is always equally bad to be too thin or too fat.
The ideal weight for a 5'5" male is 145 pounds or around 72 kilograms. For women whose height is 5'5" the ideal weight should be 136 pounds or 61 kilograms. A man whose height is 5'9" the ideal weight is 157 pounds or 71 kilograms and for a woman who is 5'9" it is 150 pounds or 68 kilograms.

There are a lot of factor that determine what kind of weight you should have. Your age, gender, height, are all the factors that count towards your ideal weight. Inherited factors are also important. If your parents have a fat tendency, it is highly likely that you are also going to be fat.
In any case, it is important that you determine your ideal weight. So that you can manage your weight accordingly. Since you have not given your height, gender etc, it would be difficult to suggest an ideal figure, however, here is a link through which you can calculate your own ideal weight. Check it out!

It really depends on your height, so for example for a 5'0 boy, weighing anything below 100 lbs isn't a good idea.
