After visiting Berlin I would highly recommend Munich and Hamburg. If you are into castles and mountains you also should see the two kings castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. They are located in a town named Füssen. If the weather is good (no clouds and such) you may want to continue to Garmisch Patenkirchen which is the town at the foothills of the Zugspitze (the highest mountain in Germany). Just very few car hours to the west you will then find the Bodensee, Germanys largest lake, where you might want to see the oldest castle Meersburg (built before the year 1000) and visit the city of Konstanz.

Germany is mostly visited during the months of May through September. In Germany the bigger cities have a quiet charm associated with them while the rural towns are picturesque and fairytale like. There is Berlin with the Berlin Wall which is a landmark in itself. The city was at one time on the strategic forefront during the cold war. You can visit the French controlled sector or the American zone or the Former Soviet Union side to see interesting landmarks. Most rural villages in Germany have one sort or the other of a wine or spring festival too. The architecture is very fairytale like. Cities such as Munich and Bonn (the capital) are industrial centres as such and are examples of aesthetic urban development. Don't forget to visit a local pub as the atmosphere and ambiance is distinct.
