Do You Find Saddam's Hanging A Justifiable Deed? Why?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

I don't really know because he should have been giving a second chance to live to change his ways
also he's been a very wicked man and deserves to be killed.

I think they should have giving him life imprisonment so he could change his ways and suffer for his deeds.

In summery for me they shouldn't have killed him even though he deserves to die. Everyone deserves to have a second chance including him.

This is a difficult question to answer.
For people who don't believe in capital punishment it is never acceptable to take life in this way. Many British politicians argued that he should have been imprisoned not executed.
For those who suffered under his regime and for their families it must seem that justice was done.
If we haven't suffered or lived under a regime such as Saddam 's I suppose it's easier to use moral arguments to justify the stance against capital punishment.
I do not believe that the death sentence overall is justified but I have no right to tell those who have suffered that my stance on the subject is right or that they should feel the same way that I do. It's a question that takes us into a moral maze with many questions and answers.
