Telescope was not discovered, it was INVENTED. Like every other invention, it fulfilled a need felt by a certain human being. It was basically designed for observing the remote objects. The basic invention is credited to Galileo who invented an instrument for viewing distant objects. This instrument was later given the name of Telescope. You can know more at the link below:
