How Does Coal Make Electricity?

    Coal is used indirectly to produce electricity. The Process is as follows.
    Coal is burnt to heat water in a boiler and convert it to steam which inturn rotates a turbine like in windmills. This turbine is attached to a generator which is used to generate electricity
