I've Only Been At My Job For 2 Moths. And Got A Better Job Offer. How Do I Resign?

I started my current job 2 mos. Ago and it has been slow in starting. I also took the job because I was financially strapped and I knew it could potentially open doors to something I actually wanted to do. A job called me that I previously applied for and it's my dream job. I want to accept the position, but feel bad for quiting so soon w this employer. I'm going from a state position to city position.

It is very simple , you are resigning because you got a better opportunity. So there is nothing you should feel bad about. Consider the fact that anyone else would have done the same thing for a better career. I suggest you take your dream job but do look into the legalities like contracts etc.

Thank you. I was also looking for how to go about it, what should I say, etc.? Should I give a heads up that I'm thinking about this and then turn in my letter or just turn in my letter of resignation?

Did you have any kind of contract with your employer? If yes, then you can't leave this job for that particular time period. Its illegal and unethical as well. Don't just stick to this job because you feel its bad to leave so early, or what would by employer think. You won't get this opportunity again, so avail it. Don't loose this chance. You will regret .
