Where Is Lourdes?

Lourdes is located in southwest France. Lourdes is said to be one of the most popular Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world. The may be due to the claims of healing in the springs at that site. Supposedly a young girl names Bernadette had visions of Mary the mother of Jesus between February 11th and July 16th, 1858. Study of the messages of the various supposed appearances of Mary (especially at Fatima) show messages that deviate from the true Gospel of Christ and should be rejected by born-again Christians. It should be remembered that Satan and his demons masquerade as angels of light (2 Corinthians 11:14-15). The goal of these visions seems to be to have us look to another other than Christ for our salvation, and to depend upon signs and wonders instead of resting in our faith in Christ. Remember that regarding the end times, Jesus said, "For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible." Matthew 24:24.
