The purpose of shoutbox is just like sending a message to the member. The message of you have typed will be shown in the bottom of the page of the profile of the blurter

You can click on blurtit help and it will explain everything to you. Well, most everything. I just found out last night that I could click on the red mark on my shout messages to eliminate some of them off the page. I've been on this site since Feb. And was just so interested in reading all the questions and getting to know people that I only just today actually read the help section to learn about the site.

The shoutbox is for people to leave remarks for the person who's pg. That is on. You can say Hi, welcome, liked your answer...whatever you want to say to the person. To go to that persons profile pg. Click on their avatar when you see it on any other pg. Hope that made sense.
