How Is A Washing Machine Built?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Washing machines are basically built with two types of configurations, namely the front-loading washing machine and the top-loading washing machine. In a washing machine which has a front-loading design, the cylinder (or drum) of the washing machine is mounted horizontally. The clothes are loaded through a door at the front of the machine. This door is made of glass. It works on the principle of agitation, which is provided by the back-and-forth rotation of the cylinder and by gravity.

On the other hand, in a washing machine which has a top-loading design, the clothes are put into a cylinder which is vertically mounted. The agitator of a washing machine is like a propeller. It is in the centre of the bottom of the cylinder. Some models have drums with horizontal axes, like front-loading washing machines.
