Can You Help To Fix My Washer Myself?

My whirlpool washer would not drain the water after it was done in the wash cycle. I can hear the motor still running(the humming sound). I tried putting it on the other setting but the same thing it would agitate but would'nt drain the dirty water for the rinse cycle PLEASE can anyone help me with some do-it-myself answers to my problem? A million thank you would be given. LIndamarie

Hi I use to work at home on washers and dryers, I hope i'll be able to help, there should be a belt going from your motor to your pump depending on the age make and model of machine your pump will either be plastic or a cast metal. The belt my have broken or falling off. Take the belt with you when going to get a new one, also you my have a plugged pump or hose. Worst your pump my have pack it in. Hope this helps.
