There are different temperatures on which the enzymes are activated. The temperature at which the enzymes are activated is known as optimum temperature. There are some enzymes like enzymes from arctic snow flea which are activated at negative 10 Celsius. The factor that makes the enzyme to activate at 4°C is the kinetic energy of the enzyme and the substrate. At this temperature, both enzyme and the substrate collide more frequently and they get the sufficient energy for activation. If you increase the temperature above this point then the rate of the reaction will decrease.
