What Are The Symptoms/side Effects Of Papillomavirus In Males?

My husband has brown mole/warts on his penis. I was diagnosed with the early stages of papillomavirus . He has always said the spots were just moles. I have NOT had sexual relations with anyone else. Is it possible that he has had this virus most of his life and has been unaware of his condition?

The human Papillomavirus or HPV has more than 100 species and out of which 30 are STD. These HPV can cause genital warts in both male and females and cervical cancer in females. In males, HPV usually show no symptoms. The symptoms may appear as warts. Some time the warts are so small that they are not clearly visible. If you claim that you have no sexual contact except your husband the it is possible that your partner is culprit. For more details, visit Papillomavirus.

Ladies please don't jump to conclusions and think your husband has been unfaithful after being diagnosed with HPV. After much research and discussion with various medical care providers I've discovered HPV can lie dormant for years. In fact, at the time of my diagnosis I had been married for almost 19 years so you can imagine my first response especially knowing I have remained faithful throughout our marriage. However, my OBGYN and my family doctor both assured me that HPV can lie dormant for years. As proof, my OBGYN recently diagnosed an 80 year old woman with HPV. That woman has not been sexually inactive since her husband passed away almost 30 years ago. Hopefully, if this doesn't reassure you that your husband might be telling the truth further research into the matter might. Meanwhile, your husband or significant other may very well deserve your continued loyalty as a partner. I hope this helps...and if you have any other questions let me know. I am currently dealing with a precancerous diagnosis as a result of being diagnosed with HPV and am scheduled to undergo a cone biopsy followed by a full hysterectomy after my OBGYN discovered through a vaginal ultrasound that I also have 11 fibroid cyst on my reproductive organs.
