Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Orginally known as Architext, Excite was founded in 1994 by a group of students attending Stanford University.

The site is an internet portal with a search engine. The site is also an email provider and allows visitors to search various sections such as images, videos, MP3s, jobs, news and there is also a shopping section.

Along with this, the site also offers many other services such as a section where users can create their own pages, e-cards, and users can also search for flights on Excite.com (this section is powered by Expedia).

Users can also search for games and edit games in the 'My Games' section, and there is also a fortune section.

In 2004, Excite was acquired by Ask.com (formerly known as Ask Jeeves).
