Harrods is located at Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London, U.K. It is a plush store with the motto 'Omnia Omnibus Ubique' or 'all things, for all people, everywhere'.
The store was set up before Queen Victoria's reign in 1835 by its then proprietor Charles Henry Harrod. It is currently owned by Egyptian Entrepreneur and Businessman Mohamed Al-Fayed. He spent 615 million pounds to acquire Harrods in 1985.
Harrods was the holder of Royal Warrants from the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales and the late Queen Mother. In 1997 after Dodi Al-Fayed, the son of the current owner died in a car crash with Diana, the Princess of Wales, Mohamed Al-Fayed made conspiracy claims against Prince Phillip of having been involved in the accident. Since then Harrods has lost the Patronage of the Royals.
