Why Do The Greeks Have Temples?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

They had Temples as houses of worship, where the people and the priests prayed to their (many) gods. All world cultures have some kind of worship house where they prey to whatever they believe in (called gods).
Today, the Muslims have Mosques, the Christians have Churches, the Budhists and Hindus have temples. Today the Greeks are mostly (Orthodox) Christians and they prey in Churches, but the ancient Greeks prayed in temples because there was no Christianity then and so, no churches.
