Whichever country you live in there are talent contests designed for people like yourself, who want to sing, are passionate about it and want to make a career from it.

The talent competition that can take you where you want to go is Pop Idol in U.K. and American Idol in the U.S.A. which is watched by millions of viewers around the world. The contestants, who all want to be pop singers, turn up to auditions and have to perform live in front of three judges. In America these are Simon Cowell ( who started and produced the competition in the U.K) Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul. A few singers are chosen from each city and go though to the next round of selection, which in the past has been held in Hollywood. It is tough and the judges are harsh, to prepare you for what will come in the music industry.

The singers compete on a live stage as this is broadcast on T.V. where the viewers judge them, and based on that they are either eliminated or go on to the next round, until a final winner is chosen.
By then the winner already has a fan base and has a record contract offered and can launch their careers in a big way. As many have in the past.

Believe in yourself, get some singing coaching and start turning up at auditions, you can find out where auditions are on from idol. It is open to everyone.
