My Hamster Bites, When Will It Stop?
I just got my hamster a few weeks ago, it was a baby then, he's kind of grown up now but he still bites. I'm afraid to hold him. If i leave him alone will he stop? What should i do? Will he always be this way? When will i finally be comfortable to hold him?

Hamsters also need an opportunity to chew. Offering something chewable (i.e. Wood) will allow the critter to teethe.
Avoid positioning bare flesh directly in front of the critter's teeth.
Patience is helpful. Some will only be cuddled when it's their choice.

The more you handle him the faster he will get used to being held and he'll realize you're good and not trying to harm him. Right now he's biting because he's scared. It won't take very long but you have to hold him everyday at least a few times a day. If you leave him alone, he'll always bite because by holding him it tames him and he becomes comfortable with you.

I used to think my hamster would stop biting with more handling, however, in my hamsters case it didn't help. I think some animals have more attitude than others and are compatible for certain people. It might stop with more handling, but it might not. Just have patience and if it continues for more than a couple of weeks I would consider finding a new pet.
