Is Our Landlord Allowed To Put A Lock Box On Our Heating And AC Unit?
I'm renting a place in PA, and recently our landlord put a lock box on the heat/AC unit. In our lease it states: “Lessor shall be responsible for arranging for and paying for utilities services required on the premises including water/sewage, electric, gas, cable and internet access.” I pay $450/mo to live there. Is it legal for him to put the lock on?
If you are paying for your own utilities "heat, gas, electricity" I don't see how he has the right to control the temperature of where you live. I'd look into that with a lawyer, see if you can find one that does free consultations.
