As a Mormon myself, we believe the Sabbath (or Sunday) is typically a time to study the scriptures and spend time with our families. We do not spend time with our friends or spend money, as we try and forget worldly things and focus on more important things.

I suppose if you were going to visit a family member that may be ok, but otherwise I'd just wait till Monday

We are not "forbidden" , (no punishment if you do)- just counseled not too.  Personally, I have only shopped on the sabbath for necessary food items or when traveling and I need to buy gas/food/lodging..  Leisure shopping is NOT in keeping with the spirit of the sabbath.
