Yes Fourblocks is right they call it RJ45 connector. It looks alike to the Phone Jack, but it is a bit bigger in Size.
If your motherboard is newer, may be in last 3 years, you probably have it on your motherboard. We say it is ON-Board

The Ethernet Connection on your Desktop is the larger 'phone jack'. You should have 2 'normal' size phone jacks, one for dial up connections and one for fax and then a 'larger' phone jack. That is your ethernet connection.
