Why Are The States Shaped Like They Are?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

State lines are boundaries that encompass the borders of the State and were drawn up years ago prior to the States being States and were territories. The land was either purchased and the boundaries represent the area purchased or were won in war which again reflect the area fought over and won.

I thinks it's because that's the amount of land wanted & owned by that state.
