How Can One Calculate The Number Of Mg Ions In Magnesium Chloride Of 200millimolar Concentration?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

According to Avogadro's numbers there are 6.023 x 1023 particles in one mole of a substance. In one mole of Magnesium Chloride there are 6.023 x 1023 Magnesium chloride ions which means that there are 6.023 x 1023 magnesium ions and 6.023 x 1023 chloride ions. Therefore, in 200 millimolar concentration, there are 200 x 10-3 x 6.023 x 1023= 1.2046 x 1023magnesium ions.
