Are There Different Types Of Motor Homes To Choose From?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Generally there are two different types of motor homes. These are motorised motor homes and towable motor homes. The motorised ones come in three different classes – Class A, Class B and Class C. The cheapest is Class C and it tends to have its sleeping area over the top of the drivers section, it can also tow other vehicles with it such as a boat or a motorcycle. Class B is built on a van chassis and it has a raised roof. This type is really easy to drive but it is slightly smaller than Class A. Class A types are the biggest and the driver and passenger seat turn around to double up as living room furniture when the vehicle is parked. Again this one is extremely easy to drive.

The towable types also come in a variety of different types but the main thing to keep in mind with them is that you need a vehicle which is large enough to pull the trailer along. Overall the towable types are often cheaper than the motorised one and generally all motor homes come in a variety of different shapes and sizes so you can spend as much as you can basically afford.
