Quaid-e-Azam made this speech in the first constituent Assembly of Pakistan. He said that the Assembly would have to do two functions. First, it would frame the constitution of Pakistan. Second, it would make laws to protect the life, property and religious beliefs of the people.
Quaid-e-Azam also mentioned some evils that were prevailing in the society. He suggested that all those evils should be rooted out with an iron hand. He said that bribery is the biggest curse of society. Nobody can get any job unless he gives a bribe. Similarly, black-marketing is a colossal crime against society. It makes the people starve and die Nepotism is another big evil. It divides the country into two classes of people: the rulers and the ruled. We should stop favouring only our relatives and friends. People should be given equal chances to make progress in their lives. Corruption is also paralyzing our social life. Malpractices in our government offices have blocked the way to progress and prosperity. Similarly Jobbery or swindling is an evil that has spread widely in our society.
